Welcome MSA New Students

Welcome to the Wake Forest community! We are excited to work with you to ensure that the Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) program is a challenging and rewarding experience.

In this section of the website, you will find pertinent information and materials to prepare you for the upcoming school year. Please read all pages thoroughly and carefully. Additionally, after you activate your WFU email account, we strongly encourage you to check it regularly for University and School related action items and information.

NEXT STEPS

As a first step, make sure you submit your enrollment deposit to officially accept our offer of admission. Next, we recommend you review the information and action items in the timeline below to help facilitate your transition to Wake Forest.

COMPLETE WHEN YOU ACCEPT OUR OFFER OF ENROLLMENT

  • Submit your non-refundable enrollment deposit (Refer to your admission letter)
  • Activate your WFU account and enable Google 2-Step Verification within 10 days of receiving the account activation email you should expect within a few days of making your enrollment deposit (See Computing).
  • Log in to Workday with your WFU account to begin the formal University required onboarding processes Fall semester starts only. Review the Onboarding Job Aid for more detailed instructions.
    Note: MSA Summer 2024 students will not transition to Workday until July.
  • Obtain your Deacon OneCard – the official Wake Forest University identification card. For MSA Summer starts only, you will need to go directly to https://deaconone.wfu.edu/.  MSA Fall start students will see this as a task in Workday.
  • Complete the 2024-25 FAFSA to begin the financial aid process (if you are here for summer courses, complete the 2023-24 FAFSA)
  • Save the date for Summer Meet the Firms (if you did not attend in February) – TBD August 2024
  • Join the Class of 2025 LinkedIn group (See Join Social Groups)
  • Complete the 2024 Required Form for Deposited MSA Students; (link coming soon)
  • Mark your calendar for Orientation: TBD late AUGUST 2024  – Mandatory for all students (No Exceptions!)
  • Mark you calendar – First day of MSA Classes: AUGUST 26, 2024 
  • International Students Only: Watch for instructions on I-20 documentation to your WFU account a week after WFU email activation.
  • The MS in Accountancy program DOES NOT allow Macintosh laptops.

COMPLETE BY MAY 15, 2024

  • Secure local housing.  You do not need to let us know your option.
  • If you are taking summer foundational courses, register your vehicle and obtain a summer parking pass. (You will be contacted in early April to discuss summer registration).

COMPLETE BY JUNE 30, 2024

COMPLETE BY JULY 31, 2024

  • Purchase your required textbooks
  • Secure health insurance, required immunizations and complete the WFU Health and Immunization form.
  • Consider an elective tuition insurance plan that could help minimize financial loss from an unexpected withdrawal due to sickness or injury. Must apply before first day of classes.
