Family Business Center ~ Charlotte Metro announces quarterly forum schedule

The former CEO of Porsche Worldwide and a senior executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond are among the speakers Wake Forest University Babcock Graduate School of Management’s Family Business Center ~ Charlotte Metro has lined up for its quarterly forums.
The first forum, “Leadership: The Driving Force,” features Peter W. Schutz, former chief executive officer of Porsche Worldwide and author of “The Driving Force: Extraordinary Results with Ordinary People.” He is scheduled to speak on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
The forum entitled “Tapping the Economic Pulse” will be presented by Jeffrey Kane, senior vice president and Charlotte branch manager for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. It’s scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 2.
The third forum, “Crafting an Actionable Toolkit for Your Family Business,” will be led on Wednesday, Feb. 4, by Stan Mandel, Babcock executive professor and director of the Angell Center for Entrepreneurship.
Wrapping up the series on Wednesday, April 15, will be “Four Generations in the Workplace,” which will be presented by Laura Hamilton, chief operations officer of The Brooks Group.
“We are delighted with the variety and quality of the forum speakers we have to offer our members and we hope that they will take advantage of these opportunities,” said Charlotte Metro Family Business Center Associate Director Rhonda Stokes.
All forums will be held at The Renaissance Hotel in SouthPark from noon to 4 p.m. A private lunch with the speakers is available to all Family Business Center members, sponsors and invited guests; the program begins at 1 p.m. Registration is required for all attendees. The Charlotte Metro Family Business Center, established in 2003 under the Angell Center for Entrepreneurship at Wake Forest’s Babcock School, addresses issues faced by closely held and family firms.
