The WFU MBA program is not an easy A program; however, the hard work and dedication required will be rewarding because of the respect our program holds in the business world.

I had a lot of questions/concerns coming into the program and found speaking with current WF MBA students was helpful since they were a little more direct and honest about the experience as opposed to the standard ‘company line’ I had heard from administrators. WF took a chance on accepting me and I want to do all I can to give back and leave the program better than I found it.

Why did you choose to pursue the OMBA at Wake Forest?

Flexibility in the program fit with my current professional/personal lifestyle. The WF degree, brand and quality the school represents is significant to help me stand out from others with MBAs of my peers and industry.

What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?

Interactions with my cohort was overall the most impactful. Learning to work more cohesively in a changing group for a common goal, motivating others to succeed while also learning from different perspectives to keep my motivation up has benefitted me in my personal and professional experiences so far.

What advice do you have for someone who is considering Wake Forest School of Business online MBA program?

Make a plan to dedicate a few hours of every day to schoolwork. Stick with that cadence and find ways to integrate it into everything you do. If married or have children, ensure your partner is always aware ahead of times when you’ll be unable to help with kids, etc. Once your that rhythm is set you’ll have a much easier time shifting between family, work and school work without surprises. If you’re not married or don’t have any kids now is a GREAT time to get a head and start the program.

To obtain an MBA with flexibility from one of the top universities in North Carolina (and the US).

What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?

Interacting with other members from my cohort and attending Deacon Weekend in person.

What advice do you have for someone who is considering Wake Forest School of Business online MBA program?

The courses are relevant, the professors are excellent, and the staff care. You will get the same academically rigorous education, but at a much more reasonable cost (when you compare UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke).

I thoroughly enjoyed the OMBA program and, specifically, the asynchronous schedule they operate on. I have had several family members and close friends attend Wake Forest for both undergraduate and graduate degrees and would like the opportunity to give back to a school that has made an impact on my life.

Why did you choose to pursue the OMBA at Wake Forest?

I have had multiple family members attend Wake Forest and associate the university with a strong business background. Additionally, my job is such that I do not always know where I’ll physically be week-to-week and, as such, the asynchronous schedule was important to me.

What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?

The smaller class sizes and opportunities to meet with other students and professors. Additionally, our access to student success managers puts this program above much anything else. They are AWESOME!

What advice do you have for someone who is considering Wake Forest School of Business online MBA program?

Be ready to work. During orientation this was jokingly referred to as “Work Forest.” While a bit tongue in cheek, this does hold some merit. You definitely have to put in the work but, the rewards are limitless. I would argue that I have learned more about business here than in my four years of undergraduate.

I matched up the curriculum against UNC and NCSU and Wake Forest’s program had the best value for the money. Also the reputation of WFU weighed in on my decision.

What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?

The program has actually opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities in my job function. Before attending, I had ideas of other areas I could pursue within my industry but the experience in the program has helped me realize the wide open possibilities.

What advice do you have for someone who is considering Wake Forest School of Business online MBA program?

Do your research and match up curriculum, reputation, network against other schools. You’ll likely find that Wake’s program is the best value for the money.

What made you want to become a Graduate Admissions Ambassador?

I was interested in becoming an ambassador for the program because I researched ten graduate schools before finding Wake Forest – I feel like I understand the value of the program personally but also the impact it is already having on me professionally. I would like to connect with future students to advocate for the school and learn more about who is pursuing joining our alumni network.

Why did you choose to pursue the OMBA at Wake Forest?

Initially, I was pursuing the hybrid MBA program that is based out of my hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. As my application process continued, I fell in love with the way the online curriculum is constructed, being split into two parts each semester. The value, the challenge, and flexibility of the program really resonated with me and my family.

What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?

The most impactful part of the program for me so far has probably been the group project I am currently a part of in my Issues in Diverse Teams class. It is challenging and rewarding to collaborate with talented professionals towards an academic purpose. Second to that, I have learned a lot from the great authors and the textbooks we have been reading this semester.

What advice do you have for someone who is considering Wake Forest School of Business online MBA program?

I would encourage prospective students to connect with any alumni in their network to feel the passion they have for the school and what it can mean down the road in your professional life. I would also recommend that they really work through the curriculum here and they compare it to other schools and find what makes the most sense for them. The cadence of the OMBA program is very unique, yet challenging.

I chose to pursue the online MBA program at Wake Forest University because I believed it perfectly aligned with my professional objectives. When contemplating enrollment in an online degree program, assessing the available free time in your schedule and contemplating your willingness to allocate time each day, potentially requiring early mornings, for academic pursuits is crucial. Additionally, consider approaching your employer to discuss the possibility of financial assistance for your tuition, which can significantly alleviate the financial burden. To manage the demands of coursework effectively, it is imperative to establish clear boundaries with friends and family, periodically dedicating uninterrupted time for assignments and collaborative group projects. A reliable support system is essential, ensuring you can successfully navigate the challenges of balancing work, education, and personal commitments.
