For Fall 2023 enrollment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university (open to all majors).
- Preference given to candidates with 2 years of full-time work experience prior to the program start date. (Exception: the work requirement is waived for PhD/MBA candidates). Other exceptions considered on an individual basis.
- Applicants not employed full time must receive approval from the Program Director or Associate Dean.
Application Components
An online application is required for all applicants. To submit the application, a $100 non-refundable application fee payable by credit card is required. The resume and unofficial transcript are part of the online application.
As part of your application, you are required to respond to questions in the Legal Disclosure section of the application. All applicants are encouraged to be forthcoming when disclosing this information. If required, candidates may be asked to provide additional information to complete a background check.
Unofficial transcripts will be accepted for the application review process and may be uploaded as a part of your online application. We require transcripts of all academic work completed (or currently in progress) at the baccalaureate and graduate levels.
Official final transcripts will be required following enrollment (or can be sent as part of the application process), which include the name of the degree awarded and the date the degree was conferred. To request your transcript, you can use our Transcript Request Form or the form provided by your specific college.
- Electronic transcripts (e-transcript/certified document) should be sent directly to busapply@wfu.edu.
- Paper transcripts should be mailed directly from your university in an official, sealed envelope to one of the following addresses:
- Regular Mail: Wake Forest University School of Business, P.O. Box 7897, Suite 115, Winston-Salem, NC 27109
- Express Delivery: Wake Forest University School of Business, 1834 Wake Forest Road, Farrell Hall—Suite 115, Winston-Salem, NC 27109

A resume or CV is required. A sample format is available for download by clicking the Resume Template.
You may use the optional essay for one or more of the following purposes:
- Address anomalies that may exist in your application or additional information you would like to share with the Admissions Committee.
- If you are a re-applicant, address why you are reapplying, as well as how you are a more competitive applicant since your original application. The essay is required for re-applicants to the program.
Please note that it is not a requirement to complete the optional essay unless you are reapplying to the program.
An interview is required for admission to the Wake Forest MBA program.
The interview will be scheduled by invitation after the online application is submitted. A Student Success Manager will contact you with an invitation to schedule the phone interview.
Applicants for the Online MBA program are not required to submit a GMAT or GRE test score. Applicants may choose to submit a test score if they have taken or plan to take either exam. If you submit test scores, we will consider them as part of your overall application package. Scores are valid for five years past the exam date. If submitting scores, please use the codes listed below.

Recommenders will be requested to complete a brief recommendation form as part of the online application submission. Formal letters of recommendation are not required and additional recommenders beyond the required amount will not be reviewed. Applicants can submit their application before the recommenders complete the form, but the application will not be considered complete and ready for admissions review until both recommendation forms are submitted.
Applicants admitted to the Online MBA program will be required to submit a $1,000 non-refundable deposit within two weeks of admission notification. The enrollment deposit will be applied to first semester tuition upon matriculation.
