Robin Ganzert (’87, MBA ’91) is president and CEO of the American Humane Association. Her column “Retired military dogs deserve a new leash on life,” has appeared on FoxNews.com, and was also featured on Wake Forest Magazine’s Facebook page. Ganzert writes that military working dogs perform critical and lifesaving service overseas, that they should be brought home to the United States before being retired, and that their handlers should have the first choice to adopt them.

American Humane Association has been working with Mission K9 Rescue to bring home these hero dogs so they, too, can enjoy a hero’s welcome and a happy, healthy retirement after a lifetime of service to their country.
