Motorola has been announced as the corporate sponsor of the 17th annual Wake Forest MBA Marketing Summit, which is taking place Feb. 8-10, 2007, in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The identity of the sponsor was kept confidential until teams competing in the event arrived in Winston-Salem on Thursday evening, Feb. 8. Once the name of the sponsor was announced, eight teams – featuring four to seven MBA students each – from around the country were given 36 hours to develop a marketing plan to solve a real marketing challenge facing Motorola.

This year’s participating teams include:

    • Hong Kong University of Science and Technology 
    • Indiana University (Kelley) 
    • Michigan State University (Broad) 
    • University of California – Berkeley (Haas) 
    • University of Virginia (Darden) 
    • University of Washington 
    • Wake Forest University (Babcock)

Some of the past sponsors include Coca-Cola, Echostar, IBM, GlaxoSmithKline, Apple Inc., Sara Lee, Microsoft, Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, R.J. Reynolds International, Wachovia Wealth Management and Yahoo!
