Charlotte MBA graduates honor two Wake Forest professors

CHARLOTTE—Stan Davis and Charles Iacovou of Wake Forest University’s Babcock Graduate School of Management received Faculty Recognition Awards from students in the August 2005 graduating class of the Wake Forest Evening MBA Program ~ Charlotte. The awards are given to educators for outstanding contributions to the education and personal development of students. The students selected Davis as the outstanding faculty member from their first year of studies and Iacovou from their second year.

Davis, assistant professor of accounting, specializes in managerial and cost accounting and accounting information systems. His research interests center on the changing role of management accountants and the impact of information systems on an organization’s control systems. Davis, who is a CPA and CMA, earned a BS from Trevecca Nazarene College, and an MBA and a PhD from the University of Alabama.

Iacovou, assistant professor of information technology, specializes in project management and reporting, electronic channels in retail financial services and information systems in small firms. His research examines behavioral issues in information technology management. Iacovou earned a BS from the University of Vermont and a PhD from the University of British Columbia. Before joining Wake Forest MBA, Iacovou managed an electronic bank. He was responsible for the business development of retail banking and brokerage products and self-service channels (e.g., ATM, call center, Internet, mobile, and TV channels). He serves on the editorial boards of the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, the Journal of Cases on Information Technology and the Journal of Global Information Management.

Davis and Iacovou teach at Wake Forest MBA campuses in Charlotte and Winston-Salem.
