Supporting NC Families in Need

In response to the impact of Hurricane Helene, A Bed and A Book has expanded local efforts to include supporting families displaced by recent floods, bringing beds into shelters in the hardest hit areas in Western North Carolina.

To help aid these ongoing relief efforts, faculty, staff and students recently gathered at Farrell Hall to build beds with the hope of bringing a touch of comfort at this devastating time.

About A Bed and A Book

2-3% of children in America sleep on the floor. Tomorrow, many of them will go to school tired. A lack of sleep during these critical points of development carries an emotional and physical impact that lasts beyond childhood. A Bed and A Book delivers beds, mattresses, sheets, comforters and pillows, as well as a few age-appropriate books, to children in need.
