BNY Mellon CEO Todd Gibbons to deliver School of Business graduate address
Wake Forest University School of Business will honor master’s degree recipients in the management, accountancy, business analytics, and business administration programs at an in-person ceremony on Monday, May 17 at 12 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Todd Gibbons (’79) will serve as the keynote speaker. An accomplished and respected leader, Gibbons is the CEO at Bank of New York Mellon Corporation where he leads the company’s strategic vision and innovation efforts.
Throughout his extensive career of more than 30 years, Gibbons has served in a variety of leadership roles at BNY Mellon. He previously served as a vice chairman of BNY Mellon and CEO of clearing, markets and client management – a role that represented about half of BNY Mellon’s earnings. In that role, he oversaw the pershing clearing business; the trading, financing, collateral and liquidity management solutions delivered through the markets business; treasury services and commercial payment activities; the U.S. government securities clearance and U.S. tri-party repo businesses delivered through BNY Mellon Government Securities Services Corp; credit services; global client management; and regional area management. He also served as CFO of The Bank of New York for almost a year prior to the merger of The Bank of New York and Mellon Financial in 2007.
Gibbons earned a B.S. in business administration from Wake Forest and an MBA from Pace University. He currently serves as a member of the Wake Forest School of Business Board of Visitors.
