Career success and strong academics drive undergraduate program to #13 rank nationally

Poets & Quants for Undergrads this week released their annual review of the Best Undergraduate Business Schools, and ranked the Wake Forest University School of Business No. 13 among the nation’s top undergraduate business programs.

Interim Dean and Peter C. Brockway Chair of Strategic Management Michelle Roehm reflected on how the rankings are not only a recognition of the School’s strength as a whole, but more importantly on its dedication to its students. “We’re immensely gratified that among the most impactful factors in our ranking were the high marks given to us by the students themselves. We dedicate ourselves to producing business leaders who get results with integrity, and hearing that they credit the School with preparing them to succeed in their chosen professions is a wonderful affirmation,” she said.

The Poets and Quants ranking is based on numerous criteria within three equally weighted categories: admission standards, the full academic experience, and employment outcomes.

While Wake Forest ranked highly in each category, the School received particularly high marks for measures associated with academics and career success. The School ranked in the top five for both teaching and academic advising, and placed in the top ten for career advising, career preparation, and soft skills development.

Perhaps most important of all to students and parents alike is the impact a school can have on one’s ability to land that ‘dream job.’ Wake Forest ranked #6 nationwide for enabling students to attain their Dream Career.

“We invest significantly in the rigorous preparation of our students to tackle the dynamic challenges facing today’s businesses – from personalized attention in the classroom to a nationally-recognized Office of Career and Professional Development. The true joy for us is to see them find work that they love and make a meaningful difference in the world. But it’s also awfully nice to see the work we do together recognized in the Poets and Quants rankings,” says Associate Professor Kenny Herbst, Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Programs and Sisel Faculty Fellow.

The publication names business degrees as the most popular undergraduate degree granted in the United States. For more information on methodology, visit poetsandquantsforundergrads.com.
