Wake Forest admissions director elected to Fort̩ Board for a second term
Stacy Poindexter Owen, director of admissions for graduate business programs on the Reynolda campus at the Wake Forest University Schools of Business, has been elected to her second, two-year term on the Forté Foundation board of directors.
Owen joined Wake Forest University in 1999 as the Associate Director of Admissions and was promoted to Director of Full-time Admissions in 2003. Since then, she has been instrumental in growing the graduate business programs at the university. In her current role, Owen develops and implements recruiting plans and manages the admissions process of the Full-time MBA, Evening MBA, Master of Arts in Management and Master of Science in Accountancy programs.
“Without question, recruiting women to Wake Forest is a key professional objective of mine,” says Owen. “It is evident that the Forté Foundation is playing an integral role as is shown by the 30 percent increase of women enrolled in Wake Forest MBA programs since we joined the foundation in 2003.
“I remain optimistic that with initiatives and scholarships specifically geared toward women and outreach through our Forte membership, our students and the university will continue to benefit. One such example is Jessica Dowdy’s (MBA ’10) nomination as a Forté Fellow of the Month for June 2009. In addition to financial support provided through Forté Foundation Fellowships, Jessica will have extensive networking opportunities with leading companies, peers and other schools within the Forté community.”
Forté Foundation is a consortium of leading multinational corporations, top business schools in the U.S. and abroad, and the Graduate Management Admission Councilâ (GMACâ).
