Porsche Worldwide former CEO first to speak at Family Business Center ~ Charlotte Metro quarterly forums

The former CEO of Porsche Worldwide is the first speaker at this year’s Wake Forest University Babcock Graduate School of Management’s Family Business Center ~ Charlotte Metro quarterly forums as a result of his relationship with FBC sponsor Poyner & Spruill LLP.

Peter W. Schutz, former chief executive officer of Porsche Worldwide and author of “The Driving Force: Extraordinary Results with Ordinary People,” is scheduled to kick off the FBC quarterly forums Wednesday, Sept. 24.

“I first met Peter through family friends in New York and was delighted when he agreed to come and speak to the group,” said Frank Bryant, a partner in Poyner & Spruill’s Charlotte office. “I look forward to his insights on leadership and know that he will share a wealth of information with the FBC members. As a founding sponsor of the Wake Forest Family Business Center, Poyner & Spruill is pleased to be able to play a role in bringing Peter Schutz to Charlotte.”

Poyner & Spruill is one of North Carolina’s oldest and largest law firms, with offices in Raleigh, Charlotte, Rocky Mount and Southern Pines.

Schutz’s topic is “Leadership: The Driving Force,” and he will be available to sign autographs. Copies of Schutz’s book will be provided for purchase by Joseph Beth Booksellers. In addition, Hendrick Porsche will bring several Porsches, which will be on display throughout the event. A representative from Hendrick Porsche will be on hand to answer questions.

“We are delighted that Peter has agreed to speak to our members and to have Hendrick Porsche as a part of the event,” said Charlotte Metro Family Business Center Associate Director Rhonda Stokes. “We hope that our members will take advantage of this opportunity.”

Schutz’ presentation is open to the public, but registration is required. The forum will be held at The Renaissance Hotel in SouthPark from noon to 4 p.m. A private lunch with the speaker is available to all Family Business Center members, sponsors and invited guests; the program begins at 1 p.m. For information on FBC membership, guest policies and registration please contact Stokes at (704) 366-0540.
