Heinz North America CEO to kick off Wake Forest University‰'s 2008-09 Babcock Leadership Series

The CEO of Heinz North America is kicking off the 2008-09 Babcock Leadership Series at Wake Forest University’s Babcock Graduate School of Management.
David Moran, executive vice president, president and chief executive officer of Heinz North America, is scheduled to speak at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the Worrell Professional Center on Wake Forest’s Winston-Salem campus. The event is free and open to the public.
As part of his presentation, Moran will address his career path at Heinz and how the business has evolved and grown under a new leadership model.
“Heinz is definitely on a winning streak, and I look forward to sharing how we’ve grown organically through a strong focus on innovation and execution,” Moran said.
Moran will also discuss the importance of creating a supportive culture, developing a clear business strategy and building and leveraging outside partnerships.
Heinz North America is a $4.5 billion business composed of the company’s U.S. Consumer Products, U.S. Foodservice and Heinz Canada business units. HNA is the company’s largest business representing more than 50 percent of Heinz’s sales.
Moran joined Heinz in 1998 as Vice President, Sales for Heinz USA and rose to become president of the Heinz Sales Co. in 1999, where he was responsible for $5 billion in annual sales. Before joining Heinz, Moran held a number of positions at Procter & Gamble and The Clorox Co.
A board member of the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium and director of Imperial Sugar Co., Moran has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Louisville.
