Frank L. Blum Construction Co. will be the general contractor overseeing construction of the new Wake Forest University Schools of Business building, according to an announcement.

The building, dubbed Farrell Hall for donors who recently contributed $10 million toward its construction, will be three stories tall and include 110,000 square feet, with a total cost expected of around $50 million.

Construction will begin in the spring and be completed by the fall of 2013. Blum Construction President Drew Hancock said his company has built several buildings at Wake Forest, including the first women's dormitory at the campus after it relocated to Winston-Salem from the town of Wake Forest.

"Since then we have been the school’s trusted partner for many buildings at both the Reynolda Campus and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center," Hancock said. "It is truly an honor to be selected to build Farrell Hall, and we are proud of our long association with an institution that is nationally recognized for academic excellence.”
