Dell executive speaks at Wake Forest‰'s Babcock School

Rosendo G. Parra, senior vice president and general manager of Dell’s Home and Small Business Group, will deliver the Babcock Leadership Series lecture on Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Wake Forest University’s Babcock Graduate School of Management. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be at 2 p.m. in Room 1312 of the Worrell Professional Center on Wake Forest’s Winston-Salem campus.

As senior vice president, Parra is responsible for the Dell units serving consumer, home and small business customers in the United States. He also is responsible for Dell’s manufacturing operations in Austin, Nashville, Winston-Salem and Eldorado do Sul, Brazil; and Dell’s Customer Experience and Customer Support operations for the Americas.

During his 13-year tenure at Dell, Parra also has served in several other leadership roles, including senior vice president and co-general manager of Dell Americas, vice president of Worldwide Home and Small Business, senior vice president of the public organization and vice president of major accounts. Before joining Dell, Parra spent four years in various sales and general management positions at GRiD Systems Corp. He also held various management positions for Radio Shack during an 11-year period. Parra earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Maryland. He serves on the board of directors for Brinker International.

The Babcock Leadership Series is organized by MBA students at Wake Forest’s Babcock School. The lecture series focuses on current issues affecting business.
