As part of its Deacon Discussion speaker series, the Wake Forest Charlotte MBA program hosted Charlotte Symphony President and CEO, Mary Deissler, on Jan. 17. Deissler shared her passion for the arts and her strong conviction that there is a correlation between the community’s overall health and wellness and its citizens’ commitment to the arts. A firm believer in collaborative leadership, Deissler told the students, faculty, and staff in attendance that she shares and celebrates wins, remains positive and realistic and finds ways to enhance relationships with her coworkers and staff. Her advice has been honed by her time with the Charlotte Symphony and her full career working for NGOs all over the world.
