Baltimore, MD – Reznick Group’s Principal, Bill Riley and Senior Manager, Lucas Matesa, were recognized as “SmartCPAs” by Baltimore’s SmartCEO magazine. The magazine selected 25 Baltimore area CPAs who excel in their profession and community.

Riley has been with Reznick Group since its inception in 1977 and a Principal since 1979. He is the immediate past chair of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Vice Chairman of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. A graduate of Georgetown University, he also serves as a member on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants governing council; Stevenson University Board of Trustees; Board of Visitors at Wake Forest University Schools of Business; Board of Business Volunteers Unlimited of Maryland; Secretary for the Center Club’s Board of Governors and the Board of the New York State Association for Affordable Housing. “I am thrilled and honored to be selected to receive this award for a total of five years,” said Riley.

Matesa has over 11 years of experience providing audit and accounting services to a variety of clients. He represents clients both locally and nationally, and has industry experience which includes multifamily residential real estate, real estate investment trusts, commercial real estate, the mortgage broker industry, non-profits, health and human service organizations; and state and local government agencies. Matesa is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Government Finance Officers Association.
