Backyard Ball with the Dean

Saturday, October 1 turned out to be a perfect day for Backyard Basketball with the Dean. Eleven teams comprised of students, faculty and staff from the Schools of Business competed in the tournament hosted each year by Dean of Business Steve Reinemund on his home basketball court.

A team of MBA ’13 students comprised of Daniel Laure, Govind Ravikumar, Cooper Warren, Roopali Bahal, Scott Burgess, Amy Garner, Dustin Morgan and Walt Elder won first place.

Second place went to a team of students from Forsyth Country Day School including Kevin Reinemund, Riley LaRue, Colton Bishop, Stephon White, Tre Hayes and Thor Emilsson.

Third place was MA Swag with Larry Gordon, Jeremy Laine, Cache Heidel, Eric Plummer, Tony Knox, Dosoo Amenyan, Nick Miller, Aaron Brown, Denmore McDermott and Rakim Austin (not pictured).

Dean Reinemund encourages students to build a lifelong habit of physical activity because he believes exercise keeps both the body health and the mind sharp. The Dean also hosts a weekly three mile run with business students and faculty called “Dawn with the Dean.”
