Alumnus Joseph Wallace (MSA '00) Named Principal at Reznick Group Charlotte Office

BETHESDA, Md.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Reznick Group, a top 20 national CPA firm, today announced the appointment of five new principals to the leadership ranks of its audit, tax and real estate consulting tax practices.

The five new Reznick Group principals are:

Adam Kleeman, CPA – Baltimore Office
Kleeman has more than 18 years of experience providing audit, accounting and consulting services in the commercial and multi-family real estate industries. He has extensive experience working with investors, developers, owners and management companies of various sizes and complexities. This experience includes audits of publicly-traded real estate investment trusts (REITs) and Community Development Entities (CDEs). Most recently, Kleeman has focused his efforts on servicing clients that utilize New Markets, historic and low-income housing tax credits to subsidize the financing of real estate projects. Kleeman holds a BA in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland.

Lucas Matesa, CPA – Baltimore Office
Matesa has more than 12 years of experience providing audit and accounting advisory services to a wide variety of clients. These clients include real estate developers and investors, with a focus on multi-family and commercial real estate financed through low-income housing tax credits and historic tax credits, mortgage companies (HUD non-supervised lenders), private real estate investment trusts (REITs), state and local government agencies, and health and human service organizations. Matesa has managed, developed, and executed audit plans, operational reviews, and special projects for his clients. His experience includes providing attest services to state and local municipalities and performing audits under Government Auditing Standards, audits of compliance, and audits in accordance with OMB Circular A-133. Matesa holds a BS in Accounting from Mount St. Mary’s University.

Marshall Phillips, MBA – Charlotte Office
Phillips has 18 years of experience in finance and accounting with a focus on sourcing equity and debt capital for real estate transactions as well as operating companies. As a member of Reznick Group’s real estate consulting practice, he works with clients in structuring real estate transactions that include the use of historic tax credits, affordable housing tax credits, solar/renewable energy tax credits and incentives and New Markets tax credits. He also works with a variety of state credit programs and oversees due diligence on behalf of investors and syndicators. Phillips holds an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University and a BA in Economics from Rollins College.

Rick Suid, CPA – Atlanta Office
Suid has 14 years of experience with a concentration on serving the audit and business advisory needs of clients in the real estate industry. His clients include residential and commercial real estate developers, tax credit syndicators and real estate funds. He also works with nonprofit companies, restaurants, and healthcare companies. Suid has extensive experience in the low-income housing tax credit arena where he is responsible for supervising audits, reviews, and various agreed upon procedures reports. He is also actively involved with the firm’s college recruiting and professional staff development. Suid holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Florida.

Joseph Wallace, CPA – Charlotte Office
Wallace has more than 10 years of public accounting experience with a focus on partnership tax law, individual tax law, and federal and state tax credits. His work includes tax compliance, tax planning, and tax consulting to clients in industries that include real estate and manufacturing. He also works with individuals and other small businesses. In addition to his responsibilities for the planning, preparation and review of tax and consulting engagements, he is also responsible for training, supervising and mentoring associates in the tax department. Wallace holds a MS and a BS in Accounting from Wake Forest University.
