WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Wake Forest University Schools of Business Accountancy Program has received a $125,000 gift from Reznick Group, P.C. to support the growth of the program. Reznick Group is a top 20 national CPA firm with offices in Charlotte, N.C. and nationwide. This pledge of $25,000 per year over the next five years will provide funding for student scholarships, faculty, research, and diversity programs.
“Reznick Group has been a strong supporter of the Wake Forest accountancy program for a number of years now, regularly hiring our students, providing sustained volunteer advisory leadership, and making significant financial contributions in support of our operations and activities. This recent financial commitment is a continuation of the firm’s significant financial support,” said Jack Wilkerson, Wake Forest University Schools of Business Academic Director of Accountancy Programs.
“Our long standing relationship with Wake Forest has helped to create current and future leadership in our firm. This partnership creates great opportunities for Wake Forest students and very talented staff for Reznick Group,” said Debbie Dancy, Senior Manager, Human Resources, Reznick Group. “This particular contribution will augment our previous contribution of $250,000 that was earmarked to further develop, grow and expand this very strong program."
Wake Forest offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and most students choose to continue for an additional year of study and earn a Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) degree. The nationally recognized Wake Forest MSA program welcomed a record number of 141 new students this week, representing 62% program growth over the prior year. Graduates have earned the highest passing rate on the CPA exam for five of the past six years; and in 2011, 100% of the MSA students accepted a job offer prior to graduation.
