I chose to pursue the MSM program because I wanted to gain more business knowledge so that I could use this knowledge to help science communities that could use this knowledge.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The most impactful part of this program has been getting to know the other people in the program. I feel like there is such a mix of amazing people to get to know, and it feels like I am meeting new people every week. I can't wait to meet more people as the time goes on.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
My favorite spot in Winston Salem is Dough Joe's. I love coffee and little bakeries, and I feel like this embodies such a welcoming place near campus.

I chose to pursue the MSM at Wake Forest because, as a Double Deac, I heard nothing but glowing reviews about the program. As an undergrad, I had initially wanted to pursue a business degree, but I didn't do the best in my prerequisite courses. So during my post grad planning stage, I felt as though MSM most aligned with goals for the future.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The most impactful experience in the program so far has been getting BiG in GCPP.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Engagement because I have found community in the staff who work there.

I chose the MSM program at Wake Forest because of its strong emphasis on leadership, collaboration, and practical business skills for non-traditional business undergraduates.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The most impactful part of my experience has been the opportunities to conduct a Graduate Consulting Project and grow as a leader in real-world scenarios. My background in leadership roles, whether guiding peers through projects, volunteering in community-based initiatives, or managing responsibilities within student organizations has been sharpened and expanded in the MSM program. The combination of academic rigor and hands-on collaboration has reinforced my ability to lead with confidence, adaptability, and empathy.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
My favorite spot in Winston-Salem is Bailey Park. It’s a vibrant yet peaceful space where I can recharge and take a break from the pace of graduate school. I love that the park offers something different each time whether it’s community events, food trucks, or simply a quiet moment to enjoy the scenery. It’s a place where I can both relax and feel connected to the energy of Winston-Salem, making it the perfect balance of calm and activity.

I chose to pursue the MSM program at Wake Forest because I was confident that Wake would equip me with skills that are applicable to a broad range of careers. Furthermore, I was not sure what career path I wanted to pursue, and I felt as though the MSM program would give me many opportunities to find what I am passionate about and help me make connections to find a job. Also, one thing I am really passionate about is leadership and the importance of having good leaders in any role. I felt as though my interest in leadership would be strengthened by knowledge related to management and help me learn how to become the best leader I can.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
I think the most impactful part of the program so far is being encouraged to step outside of my comfort zone through challenging work assignments and with encouragement from faculty. A lot of the subjects we are learning about have been rigorous, however I feel like that has challenged me to work hard and develop my work ethic, while also feeling secure and not afraid to do so. My professors have also provided great feedback in my learnings o far which has helped me learn more about my strengths and weaknesses and continued to shape me into a more well-rounded person.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
One of my favorite spots in Winston Salem is Reynolda Village. I think it is a fun shopping area, but an also a beautiful area to be in that reminds me of home and feels like I am out of a city. I also really enjoy walks and being outdoors and Reynolda Village is a beautiful place to do just that!

I loved the location, the program stats (only for non-business majors), and the people I spoke/emailed with when applying. The school just made me feel cared for and like they actually wanted me here.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The people I’ve met. I have met some of the kindest, most fascinating people and I get to be friends with them. It’s been nice learning beside people who want to see you succeed.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
On campus my favorite spot is the bench with the umbrella outside of Farrell. I eat lunch there a bunch and the sun hits it beautifully and warms me up. My friends and I eat and study there and it’s just become a place I associate with positive thoughts.

I chose the MSM program because I wanted to continue to sharpen and improve my business acumen and be surrounded by motivated and ambitious individuals that Wake Forest attracts.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
Working with the diverse group of students within my cohort and tackling complex challenges has been very rewarding. Also, working to understand how to be comfortable with the ambiguity that comes with these problems has been a tool I have quickly developed and can't wait to continue to expand upon it even after my time at Wake Forest.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
I would say the area behind Reynolda Hall is always a great space for me to relax and destress from my workload. I enjoy the seating they have to offer and the landscape of the trees and communal areas is always refreshing to me. I can also go right into Benson Hall and get food as well if needed.

What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The most impactful part of the program so far was the final presentation for the consulting project. it is very neat to see how everything that we were learning came together.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
One of my favorite spots on campus is Zicks, I have always thought that it was under appreciated and I love the environment. My favorite spot in Winston is Old Town Club, I have always loved golf!

I chose to pursue the MSM program because I knew I wanted to work in the business industry, but didn't know exactly what I wanted to pursue yet. I loved my accounting classes, but didn't enjoy my internships. Through speaking with people who have previously gone through the program and Alex Peoples, I learned about the excellent education I would be getting. I thought it was interesting how everyone came from a different background. I also loved how helpful the career center and alumni network are.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The most impactful part of my program experience was "navigating ambiguity." In the summer, I didn't like how ambiguous some of our classes and assignments were because I was used to being given directions or a rubric. But after reflecting on my summer experience, I've seen how much confidence I've grown in my abilities after being able to figure things out for myself and doing well.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the grass area in front of Wait Chapel. I enjoy seeing all the undergraduate students because it reminds me of my time at Wofford. Wait Chapel is also a beautiful building, and I take a picture of it every time I walk past it.

What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The most impactful part of my experience so far was my GCP1 team, which has given me the chance to practice advocating for my ideas in a psychologically safe space, reminding me that I can have fun while I work hard.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
One of my favorite spots in Winston-Salem is Old Salem, and walking around the historic museums and garden. I like the peace and quiet it affords, as well as getting off campus and exploring history.

I chose to pursue the MSM program at Wake to further develop my professional experience and combine my interests in human behavior, communications, and business. I knew Wake Forest was the right fit for me because my aunt attended Wake for undergrad. She always had such amazing things to say about the school and I knew I wanted to experience that for myself.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The most impactful part of my program experience so far has been the MSM summer graduate consulting project. Before this program, I had limited business experience and this project was a great way to learn to think with a business mindset. I loved working with a team towards a common goal and overcoming challenges together. At the end of the summer, my team was voted best in group. It was so meaningful to see our hard work recognized!
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
My favorite spot in Winston Salem is Reynolda Village! I love exploring the walking path, garden, and different shops and restaurants Reynolda has to offer. I love to grab coffee and study at Dough Joes or grab dinner at Village Tavern.

I chose to pursue the MSM at Wake Forest to broaden my knowledge of the business world and to challenge myself with new learning opportunities. Continuing my education has always been important to me because I genuinely love to learn, grow, and push myself beyond my comfort zone. As a former Health & Exercise Science major, I was especially interested in exploring how business can intersect with health—whether through healthcare management, wellness industries, or other areas where the two fields overlap. The MSM program allows me to build a strong foundation in business while also opening doors to connect my background in health and exercise science with future opportunities. Ultimately, I see this program as a way to continue progressing both academically and personally, while preparing myself to make a meaningful impact in whichever career path I pursue.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The most impactful part of the program has been the summer term. Although finding my footing during that time was a challenging and sometimes stressful experience, it ultimately shaped my success as a student. The summer laid the foundation by providing me with the essential frameworks and expectations of the MSM program, which continue to guide and support me in my academic journey today.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
My favorite spot on campus is the library because it has always been a place of peace and focus for me. To me, it feels like a quiet hideaway in the middle of a busy campus, a space where I can both decompress and be productive. As a Wake Forest undergraduate alum, the library holds even more meaning, since it was the place I spent much of my time after class, whether studying, meeting friends, or simply enjoying the atmosphere. The energy inside is calm yet welcoming, and there’s a sense of shared purpose as everyone around you is working toward their goals.

Honestly, I had no idea what I wanted to focus on at first. I have always been interested in both academia and practice but did not know how to pivot my experiences so far into a clear career path. Up until then, all my experiences were mostly academic-based, and so I did not feel fully corporate-ready, even though my interests were increasingly leaning toward applying knowledge in real-world settings. Many graduate programs require a strong professional or technical background, and Wake's MSM program stood out because it truly ‘is for all’—it offered a structured, practical approach while still allowing me to build on my previous experiences. On top of that, I was fortunate to receive a full-ride scholarship, which made it an easy and exciting choice. Looking back, I realize that the combination of flexibility, mentorship, and hands-on learning at Wake is exactly what I needed, and no other program would have fit in my personal and professional journey so well like the MSM program here.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
It is hard to pick just one, because all parts of the program have been enriching in their own way. The way I see it, through mentorship, leadership, and community, I have been able to grow in both personal and professional ways that I did not fully expect. The Shrradaa that I was just a few months ago—more unsure and hesitant—versus the Shrradaa I am now—more confident and self-assured—shows the impact this journey has had on me. I have had experiences that rigorously challenged me, supported me, and ultimately shaped me into a stronger version of myself. Starting from the professors and mentors to the peers I have learned alongside, I am deeply grateful for these experiences and cannot wait to carry and share these lessons forward.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
I forgot the name of the nursery on Bethabara Road, but that would probably be one of my favorite spots in Winston-Salem. I got my first plant for my room there and have since picked up three more. I also volunteered there during the summer semester, but I have not been back yet because of workload—I will probably visit again once the fall semester is done. I love it because it is peaceful and a little escape where I can rejuvenate.

I chose to pursue MSM because even though I do have a degree in Economics, I graduated in 3 years and didn't feel quite ready to enter the workforce. I believed the MSM would better my business acumen and also serve as a good networking opportunity.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
I think the group projects themselves have been the most impactful for me, as it has tested my ability to work in a group. In my undergraduate and prior education, I did not like doing group work and would try to avoid it if possible. Doing this program has made me come to terms with who I am in a team setting and learn more about myself.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
Krankies is probably my favorite spot in Winston-Salem because it is arguably the best place for breakfast in the city.

I chose to pursue the MSM program at Wake because I witnessed firsthand the value it provided to my mentor during my internship at GSK. Seeing how the program equipped her with the tools to navigate the complex business challenges of the pharmaceuticals industry and grow as a leader inspired me to follow a similar path. Since my undergrad studies were not in business, I wanted to complement my existing experiences with formal coursework that would deepen my understanding of business fundamentals and strengthen my professional foundation.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The most impactful part of the MSM experience so far has been the Graduate Consulting Project. Working with a team to develop strategies to increase sales for a specific client challenged me to think critically, collaborate effectively, and deliver actionable recommendations. The project mirroed real-world business cases, giving me hands-on experience that strengthened both my analytical and leadership skills.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
My favorite place on campus is the living room in Farrell Hall. I enjoy grabbing a bagel and coffee from Einstein's and then settling into one of the comfortable chairs and getting to work without having to go to far. The living room is a great space where I can easily collaborate with peer in my cohort and even connect with professors or career coaches in passing.

What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The most impactful part of my MSM experience so far has been the diversity of the program. I’ve been able to learn and collaborate with classmates from so many different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

I really enjoy the trails near the Reynolda area. The scenery is so beautiful and it's a nice escape when I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed.

When talking to members of faculty at WFUSB I saw the degree at which faculty cared about the students they worked with and saw it as great opportunity for growth to move into the world of business.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
The varied backgrounds and perspectives of my fellow students have been great but also the level of passion our professors have during and after class.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
I love the pit, I love the variety of food and I admittedly eat a lot so it’s great for that. I also love East of Texas great food and some good deals if you get there on the right days.

I chose MSM as it was between this, or the Masters in Law program offered to me as a potential Emerging Leaders Program connected to the PA program. MSM appealed to me greater as it would connect me directly into experience in leading and working with a team, a skill that is absolutely neccessary to succeed as a health care provider. Furthermore understanding how business and management work will give me better insight into how to care for patients that are having difficulty navigating the busienss part of healthcare that causes a lot of difficulties for everyone.
What has been the most impactful part of your program experience so far?
I think simply meeting all these diverse people that are a part of my program! Admissions did a fantastic job drawing people from all sorts of backgrounds who also exemplify great personal values. Every member of my cohort is unique, and I feel as though I can walk up to anyone and strike up a meaningful conversation.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus or in Winston Salem and why?
Right now, it's Chad's Chai. It's an amazing spot to study, read, or just decompress with a huge array of regular teas and also personal concoctions they've created. The little snacks they have available are delicious too!
