Biography

Yeongin Kim is an Assistant Professor of Business Analytics at the Wake Forest University School of Business. Before joining Wake Forest, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems at Virginia Commonwealth University. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science with a concentration in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Dallas, an M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Inha University in South Korea.

His research focuses on the intersection of information technology and decision-making in healthcare and digital platforms, with a growing emphasis on the responsible use of artificial intelligence. His work employs methodologies from game theory, econometrics, optimization & machine learning, and has appeared in leading journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Decision Support Systems, and Information & Management. His research has received several accolades, including best paper awards from INFORMS and the Decision Sciences Institute.

Driven by the goal of bridging academic research and practical impact, His work explores how digital and AI technologies shape business and societal outcomes - ranging from healthcare service delivery and patient engagement to gig economy platforms and social media. He is passionate about mentoring students and integrating real-world challenges into the classroom to develop analytics professionals equipped for data-driven decision-making.

He currently serves as an Associate Editor for Decision Support Systems and on the editorial board of the Decision Sciences Journal. He is an active member of the academic community through his service as a reviewer, track chair, and program committee member in major IS and analytics conferences.
