Join Robert K. Musil, President of the Rachel Carson Council, for an insightful public talk on January 15th titled "North Carolina's Environmental Future and the Legacy of Rachel Carson." In this engaging discussion, Musil will explore the lasting impact of Rachel Carson, the pioneering environmentalist whose groundbreaking work reshaped America's understanding of nature and environmental stewardship. Drawing from his extensive expertise, Musil will examine the state of North Carolina's environment, its unique ecological challenges, and opportunities for a sustainable future, all while highlighting Carson's enduring influence. He will also reflect on the role of women in shaping environmental policies and movements, based on his book Rachel Carson and Her Sisters: Extraordinary Women Who Have Shaped America's Environment. This talk promises to inspire and empower attendees to consider the ways in which Carson's legacy can inform the ongoing environmental work in North Carolina and beyond.
