BIOGRAPHY
Frederick H.deB. Harris (Rick) is Professor of Economics and Finance, Wake Forest University. His specialties are capital market design and price discovery in financial markets, as well as pricing tactics and revenue management in product markets. He has taught Core and elective M.B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. courses at Wake Forest, Texas, William and Mary and research centers in Germany, Italy, and Australia.
Professor Harris has won two school-wide Researcher of the Year awards and two Educator of the Year awards. Other recognitions include Outstanding Faculty (Inc., 1998 and 2001), Outstanding Faculty (Business Week's Guide to the Best Business Schools, 1997-2004), Board of Associate Editors (Journal of Industrial Economics, 1988-2003), and the Runner-up Prize (European Corporate Governance Institute, 2007).
His fifty plus publications have appeared in the Financial Times journals in Economics, Finance, Operations, and Management as well as leading field journals such as the Journal of Financial Markets, the Journal of Industrial Economics, and the Journal of Pricing and Revenue Management. He also writes contributions to practice in the Journal of Trading from Institutional Investor Inc., in Bloomberg's Guide to Global Liquidity, and in the AMA's Marketing Management.
Professor Harris holds a 1981 Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and earned a Dartmouth College B.A. with distinction in Economics.
