Wake Forest Conference Highlights Analytics for Impactful Sustainability
The Center for Analytics Impact at the Wake Forest University School of Business presented a one-day conference on Friday, April 21 that explored the role analytics plays in driving sustainable outcomes across an enterprise. The conference was held in Farrell Hall on the university’s Reynolda campus.
Industry leaders from GE, Google, TIAA, Hanesbrands, Truist, and more explained how analytics is used to create impactful sustainability practices and ways progress is measured along the journey to a more sustainable future. The event was hosted in partnership with the Wake Forest University School of Law and the university’s Center for Energy, Environment, and Sustainability (CEES). The conference was sponsored by Truist.
“We were excited to host this event and bring together experts in the field of analytics and sustainability,” said Shannon McKeen, Executive Director of the Center for Analytics Impact and Professor of the Practice. “This conference provided attendees with an opportunity to gain valuable insight into how impactful sustainability is achieved through analytics.”
In addition to sessions from industry leaders, the conference also included a case competition on Thursday, April 20 where Wake Forest students presented data-powered solutions geared toward reducing contamination costs and improving the city’s recycling stream.
