Pre-Work Assignments & Textbooks

The MBA curriculum is designed to provide you with the ability to approach and analyze challenges from a wide range of perspectives in order to achieve holistic solutions. The tasks and resources below will prepare you to meet these challenges before and after classes start.

Pre-Work Assignments (required)

MBA faculty may require preparatory coursework to be completed prior to the first day of class. If so, you will receive that information at Orientation.

Orientation Pre-Work Case Study (required)

A Case Study Analysis will be provided prior to Orientation – read the case thoroughly and come prepared with detailed notes and analysis. This is not a graded assignment, but the exercise will familiarize you with the case study methodology that many Wake Forest MBA faculty utilize in class.

Quantitative Methods ($75, Click Here)

“Business Analytics I & II are challenging courses. To get a jump start on your preparation, I strongly encourage all students, especially those with weak math backgrounds, to complete the Harvard Business School (HBS) Quantitative Methods Online Course. The HBS course is a fun, self-paced way to learn the fundamental skills you’ll need to be successful. Putting the time in before class starts will pay huge dividends in time (and frustration) later on.”
Derrick Boone, Quantitative Methods Professor

The Quantitative Methods course is an online, self-paced course that serves as an introduction to using statistical methods to solve business problems. The course teaches statistics from the management perspective and places special emphasis on developing the skills and instincts needed to make good decisions and become a more effective manager. The course includes pre-and post-assessments. The estimated time to completion is 20 to 50 hours, depending on your experience with the material. The cost is $75, which gives you access to the website for 1 year so you can review it as needed. Click on the link above to create a username and password to get started.
