New Faculty Join the School of Business for Fall 2024

The Wake Forest University School of Business welcomed five new full-time faculty members and one visiting faculty member for the 2024-2025 academic year.

“We are excited to welcome our newest colleagues to the Wake Forest University School of Business,” said Dean Annette L. Ranft. “Their diverse research contributions and teaching methods will enhance our students’ learning experience and further our mission to develop analytical and ethical business leaders.”

Full-time Faculty:

Jenelle Conaway, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Accounting
Conaway’s research primarily focuses on international accounting topics, specifically financial and audit issues. Before her appointment at Wake Forest, she served as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at George Mason University. Conaway holds a Ph.D. from Boston University, an MBA from Loyola University Maryland, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.

 

Devon Jefferson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Accounting
Jefferson specializes in audit behavioral research, employing experimental, survey, and interview methods to examine how auditor-auditor interactions and auditor well-being affect audit quality. Additionally, Jefferson brings over nine years of auditing experience, having previously worked at KPMG within its Federal Audit Practice and its business school, where she developed and instructed audit training. She also held the position of Audit Manager for Arnett Carbit Toothman, handling clients across various industries including not-for-profit, financial institutions, oil and gas, construction, and hospitality. She earned a Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University, a master’s degree from Michigan State University, and a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina A&T State University.

Yeongin Kim, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Analytics
Kim’s research interests include healthcare information technology (HIT), digital platforms, and artificial intelligence (AI). Prior to joining Wake Forest, he was an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at Virginia Commonwealth University. Kim obtained his Ph.D. in management science from the University of Texas at Dallas, a master’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Texas A&M University, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Inha University in South Korea.

Zlatana Nenova, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Analytics
Nenova’s scholarly work focuses on operations management, data mining, and healthcare analytics. Before her current role at Wake Forest, she served as an Assistant Professor in Business Information and Analytics at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. Nenova received a Ph.D. in business operations and analytics from the University of Pittsburgh.

 

Victoria Reibenspiess, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Management Information Systems
Reibenspiess researches topics related to IT identity and adoption, the impacts of information systems, digital innovation, and the future of work. Prior to her appointment at Wake Forest, she served as an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at Washington State University’s Carson College of Business. Reibenspiess earned a Ph.D. in management (information systems) from the University of Innsbruck in Austria and holds both a master’s degree in business informatics (computer science and management) and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from Goethe University Frankfurt in Germany.

Visiting Faculty:

Bryan Starrett, J.D., Visiting Professor of the Practice, Business Law
Starrett’s areas of interest include employment law, business litigation, and corporate ethics and compliance. Prior to his current role, he served as an Adjunct Professor of the Practice within the School of Business since 2016, where he has contributed insights from both academic and practical perspectives. Starrett holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in business from Wake Forest University.
