Charlotte Saturday MBA: Pre-Work Assignments & Textbooks

Pre-Work Assignments and Orientation Case Study

The Wake Forest University Charlotte Saturday MBA faculty may require pre-work prior to the first day of classes. If required, you will receive this information in an email from Matt Ganderson. In addition, you will be required to prepare for a mock case that will take place at Orientation. You will receive this information from Matt Ganderson in his Welcome Email.

Quant Preparation (highly recommended for all, required for admission on case-by-case basis)

MBA Math is an online MBA prep program designed to take you through the basics of spreadsheets, statistics (quantitative methods), accounting, finance and microeconomics. The 24 online modules allow you to complete the material at your own pace.  All modules contain relevant skills used in the first-year MBA classroom. The cost is only $149, which gives you access to the website for one year so you can review as needed. Wake Forest MBA students receive access to the MBA Math at a discounted rate.  Please contact Jeremiah Nelson at nelsonjs@wfu.edu or Jillian Stubbs at stubbsja@wfu.edu for more information. Go to MBAmath.com and click on the Admitted student button for more information and to sign up.

Textbooks

All textbooks are required and are included with your tuition. Books will be available at Orientation on January 12.

Title IX Training, Student Agreements and Other Tasks

Before your classes begin, please log into the New Student Agreement Portal using your WFU username (not your email address) and password to complete the required student agreements and tasks.

Lynda.com and Excel Prep

As a student you have access to resources and tools on Lynda.com. In addition, you can review the Excel for Students section that covers many of the training topics that you will need to be success in the MBA Program. Students can log into Lynda.com using their WFU credentials and get access to the Excel learning path and much more.

LASSI

We offer students the opportunity to take the LASSI (Learning and Study Strategies Inventory) Assessment as a way to better assist students in the MBA program. This is an assessment designed to help you become more aware of areas you could grow in academically, easing your transition back to school. To take this test, please email Jenna Martin (martinja@wfu.edu) and she will send you your personal login information (note: no one else will be able to see your results, and administration will only look at the information to offer you (not require) assistance. Results are confidential and will never be shared with your peers or professors). In addition to this test, we have a “WFU Academic and Study Skills” google site available to you. On this site, there are many resources available for you to download that can help you achieve your goals. You can utilize this whether or not you have taken The LASSI.
