Michael Mahoney to Speak at Wake Forest School of Business Hooding Event
Boston Scientific President & CEO will address graduate business students May 15

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Michael Mahoney, President and CEO of Boston Scientific Corporation, will offer the Wake Forest University School of Business hooding ceremony keynote address on Sunday, May 15. The ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Wait Chapel on the University’s Reynolda Campus.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our graduate business students along with their friends and families, to hear advice on leadership from Michael Mahoney, a remarkable CEO with a global viewpoint,” said Charles Iacovou, Sisel Distinguished Dean of the School of Business.

Mahoney is a member of Boston Scientific’s board of directors. In this role, he oversees global development, marketing and sales of the company’s broad medical solutions portfolio. He has served in this role since November 2012, after one year as president of Boston Scientific, leading the Cardiac Rhythm Management and Endoscopy business divisions. Joining the company in 2011, Mahoney brought with him a 24-year track record of building market-leading medical device, capital equipment and healthcare IT businesses.

Prior to Boston Scientific, Mahoney served as Worldwide Chairman of Johnson & Johnson’s Medical Devices and Diagnostics (MD&D) division, overseeing seven franchises and 50,000 employees. He previously served as Worldwide Group Chairman of Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy orthopedics and neuro-sciences business, where he drove growth through product innovation, acquisitions and market expansion into China and India.

Earning his MBA from the Wake Forest University School of Business in 1996, Mahoney also holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Iowa. He serves on the AdvaMed’s board of directors and is a member of the American Heart Association CEO Roundtable.
