Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Admissions decisions are made on complete files only. Once an application is complete, an applicant will receive a decision in approximately four weeks through the online application system. To begin the process, we recommend verifying your program eligibility before accessing the online application. Candidates applying to the Evening MBA or PhD/MBA program should follow the application instructions and requirements shown below.

The Wake Forest University School of Business seeks individuals who have demonstrated achievement through academic coursework, professional experience and community involvement. Wake Forest looks for leadership ability, motivation, focus, enthusiasm, strong values and teamwork skills in its prospective students.
Before you start the application process, we encourage you to check the program eligibility standards shown below to verify that you meet the minimum qualifications. Wake Forest does not refund the application fee for a submitted application, regardless of whether a candidate meets the program eligibility.
For Fall 2017 enrollment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. All undergraduate majors will be considered.
- Have at least 3 years (36 months) of post-graduate work experience prior to August 1, 2017. Exception: Non-traditional applicants have work experience prior to enrolling in an undergraduate program. Non-traditional applicants may include military officers, religious servants, etc.
- Must be employed full-time. Applicants not employed full-time must receive approval from the Program Director to be considered.
Application & Application Fee
Online application is required for all applicants. To submit the application, a $100 non-refundable application fee payable by Visa or MasterCard is required. The resume is part of the online application.
As part of your application, you are required to respond to questions in the Legal Disclosure section of the application. All applicants are encouraged to be forthcoming when disclosing this information. If required, candidates may be asked to provide additional information to complete a background check.

GMAT / GRE
All applicants must take either the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Scores are valid for five years post exam date. Scores are valid for five years post exam date. If your score is expiring, you must submit your application prior to expiration.
Some candidates for the Winston-Salem Evening MBA program may be eligible for a GMAT/GRE waiver based on years of work experience, advanced degree, undergrad GPA, or other criteria. Please contact Enrollment Management for a consult to determine if you qualify for a GMAT/GRE waiver. For consideration, applicants should request a waiver using the optional essay on the application, indicating reasons they feel they would be eligible for a waiver.

TOEFL / IELTS
Applicants whose native language is not English and/or whose principal language of university instruction was not English must submit scores from either the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System). Exception: applicants who have completed their undergraduate work at an English-speaking college or university are not required to take the TOEFL or IELTS.
The Admissions Committee recommends a minimum TOEFL score of a 100 (IBT) or an official IELTS score of 7.0. However, score minimums are guidelines for admission. All official test scores will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and considered in the decision-making process.TOEFL and IELTS scores are valid for two years post exam date. If your score is expiring, you must submit your application prior to expiration. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to waive the TOEFL/IELTS for international applicants who have resided and worked in the United States for an extended period of time.
Information and test registration for the TOEFL is available at www.toefl.org. Use the WFU institution code 5885, department code 02. Information and test registration for the IELTS is available at www.ielts.org. An institutional code is NOT required for IELTS.
Two online recommendations are required. Please do not submit additional recommendations, as they will not strengthen your application.
Recommendations should be completed by an immediate manager (preferred) and/or a former manager, customer/client or colleague who can assess your professional skills. Faculty members are not recommended.
A recommender can complete and submit the online recommendation either before or after you submit the online application.
Exception: PhD/MBA candidates are not required to submit two online letters of recommendation, however a letter of support from the Director of the PhD program is required.
One official transcript is required from any four-year degree-granting college or university from which you graduated and earned a degree. If you are currently enrolled in a degree program, please submit a current official transcript. A final transcript is required after you complete your degree. Associate degree transcripts are not required. To request your transcript, you may use the Transcript Request Form we have provided or use the form provided by your specific college.
For electronic transcripts: Should your university use an electronic transcript format, it should be emailed directly from your university to the Enrollment Management Center at email@example.com.
For international applicants: International applicants must submit an official transcript from any degree-granting college or university for which a degree was earned. All transcripts must be received in a sealed envelope from the university. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to request an official transcript evaluation from World Education Services at any time during the admissions process. The Admissions Committee will accept either the “WES Basic” or “WES ICAP” evaluation, submitted at the applicant’s expense. If academic transcripts are not in English, a notarized, English translation must be submitted. If academic transcripts are not in English, please submit your transcripts for evaluation using WES. If transcripts are not in English, a notarized, English translation must be submitted.

An interview is required and may be conducted on- or off-campus. Interviews are scheduled by invitation only once the online application is submitted. Once invited to interview, it is your responsibility to schedule your interview. Interviews are typically confirmed within 48 hours after the request has been made, except after application deadlines and holiday breaks when request volume may be high.
To check the status of received official transcript(s), GMAT/GRE score(s), TOEFL/IELTS score(s) and recommendations, please login to your Self Service Center and click on the Applications tab to view a summary of your application status and requirements. To access your Self Service Center, enter the same username and password that you use to login to your online application.
Our office processes a large volume of application components daily, so check back often for new updates as this is the best method to check the receipt of your supplemental materials. Once materials are received by our office, it can take up to ten business days to update your Self Service Center. If it has been more than ten days and your Self Service Center is not properly updated, please contact the Enrollment Management Center at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When mailing official transcripts, it is suggested that you use FedEx or another type of service that provides you with package tracking capability.
If you completed the online application for Fall 2016, you may reapply for the subsequent year. Please verify your program eligibility before beginning the application process. As a reapplicant, you will complete an abbreviated application process; any transcripts or official scores that were previously submitted to the Enrollment Management Center will be automatically transferred to your new 2017 application file. NOTE: Reapplicants must submit new letters of recommendation using our online recommendation system. When you complete the online application, please answer yes to the question “Are you reapplying for 2017 enrollment?” on the Personal Data tab, indicating your intent to reapply. If you applied to the School of Business prior to 2016, we maintain official transcripts and official scores for up to three years. You are welcome to contact our office to inquire about previously submitted materials.
A non-traditional student is defined as an applicant who did not enroll in college directly after high school graduation to either pursue a career or enlist in the military and is just now completing an undergraduate degree OR an applicant who withdrew from college to pursue a career and is just now completing an undergraduate degree. Note that the Admissions Committee will evaluate the quality of the work experience obtained during this time.
All candidates will receive a decision within four weeks after their application is complete. The Evening MBA deposit payment of $1,000 is due one week after notification of an admittance. Note: an additional $32.45 is assessed for processing fees if paying via credit card.
In certain cases, the Admissions Committee will grant an extension to the deposit deadline. All extension requests must be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.
