Family Business Center’s Families Visit Richard Childress Racing for Family Day

More than a hundred members of Babcock’s Family Business Center and their families traveled to Richard Childress Racing’s headquarters in Welcome for an FBC Family Day event on Jan. 10. Sponsored by BB&T, the FBC Family Day provided a behind-the-scenes perspective of a NASCAR dynasty that included museum tours, racing games and activities, a tour of the RCR garage, a barbecue dinner and an appearance by Richard Childress. Childress told attendees from both the Family Business Center ~ Triad and the Family Business Center ~ Charlotte Metro that despite having more than 400 employees, RCR remains a family business that includes his wife, his daughter and his son-in-law. Childress added that he considers his employees family as well. “Family has played a big role in where RCR is today. ... That’s one of the things we’re most proud of -- people who work here and people who have helped make this thing grow. And to have your family involved makes it that much more special.”
