Application Instructions: MA in ManagementApplicants must submit the following items for a complete admissions file: Application, Application Fee - Online application is required for all applicants.
- $75.00 non-refundable application fee payable by major credit card.
- Essays and resume are part of the online application. (See below)
Two Essays - Two essays are required for all applicants. Exception: Done in a Day participants forgo writing the essays in exchange for a panel interview. If you have registered and confirmed your participation in Done in Day, please type “attending Done in a Day event” in a Word document for uploading your essays, then submit your application.
- Applicants may submit essay #3 (optional) to explain areas of concern to the Admissions Committee.
- Current essay questions: (1) Why are you interested in a graduate business degree from Wake Forest University? How will a graduate business degree help you achieve your short-term and long-term goals? (2) What, if any, cultural norms, ways of life, practices or beliefs will people who live 100 years from now look back and say, "How did they tolerate that?"
Resume - Resume is required for all applicants.
- Recommended format: use the Resume Template found in the Downloadable Forms section.
GMAT / GRE - All applicants must take either the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE). While both are accepted, the Admissions Committee strongly encourages candidates to take the GMAT exam.
- GMAT test registration information is available at www.mba.com. Use the WFU institution code R5F-NS-64.
- GRE test registration information is available at www.ets.org/gre. Use the WFU institution code 4250.
TOEFL - Applicants whose native language is not English and/or whose principal language of university instruction was not English must submit TOEFL scores (Test of English as a Foreign Language). Exception: applicants who have completed their undergraduate work at an English-speaking college or university are not required to take the TOEFL.
- Information and test registration for the TOEFL is available at www.toefl.org. Use the WFU MBA institution code 5885, department code 02.
- Internet-based TOEFL exam (IBT) strongly recommended.
Two Recommendations - Two online recommendations are required for all applicants.
- The Admissions Committee encourages one recommendation from a current or former faculty member, including both teaching and advising faculty, and one recommendation from a non-faculty member. Examples of non-faculty recommenders include, but are not limited to, club/organization advisor, community mentor, athletic group coach, part-time job supervisor, and/or internship manager.
- Do not submit additional recommendations, as they will not strengthen an application.
- A recommender can complete and submit the online recommendation before an application is submitted.
- If a recommender is unable to complete the recommendation online, contact the Office of Graduate Business Admissions for further instructions.
Transcripts - Official transcripts are required from any college or university from which you earned a degree.
- Use the Transcript Request Form found in the Downloadable Forms section (or use the form requested by the specific college.
- Electronic transcripts are preferred and should be emailed directly from the college/university to Ginny Kerlin in the Office of Graduate Business Admissions (ginny.kerlin@mba.wfu.edu).
- If electronic transcripts are unavailable, paper transcripts should be mailed by the college/university in a sealed envelope directly to the Office of Graduate Business Admissions.
- Applicants who are currently enrolled in college should request and submit a current copy of their transcript. A final transcript is required after graduation.
- If academic transcripts are not in English, a notarized, English translation must be submitted.
- A certified copy may be sent in place of the original transcript.
- International applicants may submit a certified copy in place of the original transcript. All international applicants are strongly encouraged to submit transcripts for official evaluation to World Education Services.
Interview - Interviews are by invitation only after the online application has been submitted.
- The Admissions Committee reserves the right to require an interview before making a final decision on any application.
