Reynolda Campus – Schools of Business

In a commitment to building the future of business education at Wake Forest, a task force of faculty and staff members of the Schools of Business, in concert with Dean Reinemund and the University Architect, created a set of project goals for a new space on the Reynolda campus which will house the entire faculty of the Schools of Business and serve as the center for student activities—a space that will truly capture and take advantage of Wake Forest University’s unique collegiate atmosphere. Construction of this world-class business education center will be completed in three phases.

PHASE ONE

The project will start with the renovation of an existing building, which is located adjacent to the Worrell Professional Center. It will include space for all faculty offices, career placement and professional development spaces, admissions offices, and student services. Key features will include a premier food service facility, a large meeting space, a variety of seating areas for impromptu conversations, lounge areas for informal faculty meetings, highly accessible spaces for student/staff gatherings, faculty offices that will equal or exceed the size and quality of current offices in Kirby Hall and the Worrell Center, administrative support areas, and a monumental staircase leading to an atrium streetscape.

Phase One, which should be ready in the Fall/Winter of 2010, also includes the repurposing of the current faculty offices in Worrell so that all classroom facilities can be located in the Worrell structure.

PHASE TWO

The new hub of student and faculty life will be connected to the classroom building by a sweeping structure inspired by the University’s Reynolda House Museum.

PHASE THREE

As the programs of the Schools of Business scale up to sustainable sizes for the long term, the plan for the business education center provides for approximately 10,000 square feet of additional classroom space by expanding Worrell.

Charlotte Campus

With a desire to expand programs and provide additional services to students, alumni and the broader business community in the Charlotte-metro area, Wake Forest University Schools of Business are exploring new sites for their Charlotte-based programs. Currently located in the South Park region, we are looking to relocate into the core business district and are considering facilities that will provide at least 25,000 square feet of space.

The new facility will serve an expanded role to include:

  • Housing higher education programs, including degree, non-degree and corporate programs.
  • Cultivating outreach and community partnerships to serve as a catalyst for business community interaction.
  • Serving as a base of operation for faculty experts who specialize in industries vital to the Charlotte economy.

Serving as the base of activity for the more than 6,000 Charlotte-based Wake Forest alumni. Activities will include workshops, guest speakers, networking opportunities, and an expanded Career Management Center with dedicated counselors for the Charlotte area alumni.
