Financial Aid and Scholarships

John Belk Stevens Scholarship in Business: Donated by the Belk Foundation in honor of John Belk Stevens; given to senior business majors with particular interests in retailing or marketing and based on academic merit.

Thomas H. Davis Business Scholarship: Established by employees of Piedmont Aviation, Inc. in honor of its founder and retired chairman; awarded to at least one Undergraduate Schools of Business senior based on academic achievement, financial need, and potential for business leadership.

Phillip Wilson/Peat Marwick Scholarship: Established in memory of Phillip W. Wilson, a managing partner of Peat Marwick Main & Co.; awarded to a senior accounting student on the basis of scholarship, demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, and commitment to the accounting profession.

Jones-Holder Business Scholarship Fund: Awarded upon the recommendation of the dean of the Undergraduate School of Business; recognizes a rising senior business major who has demonstrated a high level of achievement during their first three years with the University.

Daniel Eugene and Beulah B. Gatewood Scholarship in Accountancy: Given by Beulah B. Gatewood in honor of her husband; awarded to an undergraduate accounting major based on academic merit and financial need.

Robert C. Bridger, Jr. Scholarship: Donated by George R. Bridger in honor of his father to a senior major in the Undergraduate School of Business. Selection of the recipient is based on demonstrated academic ability and financial need with preference given to students from Bladen County or southeastern North Carolina.

Neal Monroe Chastain Memorial Scholarship: Established by Mrs. June Booth of Charlotte in memory of her son; awarded to a senior business major exhibiting Christian ideals and good academic achievement.

Henry Russell and Clara Stephenson Harris Scholarship Fund: Established by Elizabeth Harris in memory of her parents; provides a scholarship awarded on the basis of academic ability and financial need to at least one senior business major who plans to pursue a career in banking.

Burke M. McConnell Management Excellence Scholarship: Established by Pace Communications, Inc. of Greensboro; given to the senior in the Undergraduate School of Business who holds the highest grade-point average for his or her first three years at the University.

William D. Brigman Scholarship: Awarded to a junior or senior in the Undergraduate School of Business on the basis of academic ability and outstanding leadership potential.

Lowe's Foods Fund: Donated to provide for an internal Undergraduate School of Business "case cup" competition. In addition, the Fund will provide scholarships awarded on the basis of merit and demonstrated leadership qualities. Recipients will be designated as Lowe's Foods Scholars. Preference will be given to students who live in North Carolina or Virginia.

Augustine John Taylor and Roby Ellis Taylor Scholarship: Established by Roby Ellis Taylor in honor of his father; given to at least one undergrad who expreses an interest in accountancy; who has a financial need and whose permanent address is within 50 miles of Winston-Salem.

H. Howell Taylor, Jr. Risk Management Scholarship Fund: Awarded upon the recommendation of the dean of the Undergraduate School of Business; to students who demonstrate satisfactory interest in a career in risk management. 

R. Stanley Vaughan/PricewaterhouseCoopers Endowed Scholarship Fund: Established in honor of R. Stanley Vaughan’s retirement from PricewaterhouseCoopers after 37 years of services; awarded to Accountancy majors enrolled in the Master of Science in Accountancy program with preference given to fourth year students.

Robert H. Demsey Scholarship Fund: Awarded to undergraduate students with financial need who intend to major or who are already majoring in business or accountancy.

Julian W. and Martha B. Bunn Scholarship: Established to provide scholarship(s) for undergraduate students with financial need whose residence is located in the state of North Carolina.

Bank of America Leadership Scholarship: Awarded jointly to students in the Undergraduate School of Business and the Department of Economics who have financial need and who help achieve and sustain diversity of the student body.

Disher Fund for International Studies: Established to support business students pursuing international studies to include foreign travel and study in qualified fields of study on the Wake Forest campus.

John and Margaret Newett Dixon Scholarship Fund: Established for students with financial need with preference given to students who have declared and are pursuing a major or master’s degree in Accounting.

Teague Scholarship Fund: Donated by the Oscar B. Teague and Mossie S. Teague Foundation to provide scholarship to undergraduate students who are interested in Entrepreneurship or International Studies and are entering or enrolled in the Schools of Business. Financial need will be the determining factor when awarding the scholarship between or among several qualified students.
