Why a Wake Forest MSA?

In a business world shaped by complexity and moral challenges, the Wake Forest Schools of Business seek to train accountants to take advantage of their dual roles as technicians and advisors. It is those dual roles and the requisite balancing that makes accountancy more than a job: it is a profession and, at its best, a calling.

What distinguishes the Wake Forest MSA program?

  • The first Wake Forest University Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) class graduated in May, 1997.
  • The WFU MSA offers three separate tracks for students to pursue:  Assurance ServicesTax Consulting and Transaction Services.
  • The MSA degree requires 30 graduate hours: a core of 15 hours, 6 to 7.5 hours of specified coursework for the student’s selected track of study, and approved elective hours for the 30-hour total.
  • The program consistently ranks among the top MSA programs nationally.
  • The program includes a 9-10 week paid professional internship during the spring semester of a student’s first year of study. This experience substantially improves the student’s perspective on subsequent coursework and enhances full-time job opportunities.
  • During its 13- year history, the MSA program has placed virtually 100% of its students seeking internships and/or full time employment. Most students receive multiple offers.
  • The faculty strongly believe in sharing their professional experiences and research activities with their students.  Consequently they strive to keep the course content relevant to professional practice and the course materials up to date.  The faculty are actively involved in the profession and are committed to offering their students a meaningful academic experience.
