Accounting Club The mission of the Accounting Club is to promote extracurricular activities among graduate students as a means of enriching their MSA program experience and to establish what will hopefully become valuable professional relationships among students and between students and the University that will continue past graduation. Black Business Students Association The BBSA strives to create networking opportunities for its members and to enhance the educational experience for the larger Wake Forest Schools of Business graduate community through cultural programs. Elevator Competition Entrepreneurs reach for the sky in this competition, which gives teams of MBA students from universities throughout the nation the chance to take two, two-minute elevator rides with venture capitalists in hopes of selling them on a business plan. For more information, email.
Entrepreneurship Club The Entrepreneurs exist to provide networking opportunities for business students interested in new venture creation, internal corporate venturing, venture capital or family business. The club's activities serve to foster the entrepreneurial spirit within the graduate business school community and encourage the development of entrepreneurial skills that are important in all industries and career tracks. Finance Club The Finance clubs strives to gain a better understanding of finance career tracks for first and second year graduate students through guest speakers, corporate visits, and interaction with students and faculty and to fully leverage alumni of the Schools of Business and Wake Forest University to help in the placement of our students in internships and permanent positions that meet their career goals. Healthcare Club The Healthcare Club helps position students to solve the business needs of the public and private healthcare industry. We accomplish this through organizing events linking healthcare professionals, executives, students, both past and present, as well as supporters of Wake Forest and the Schools of Business. Honor Council The Honor Council receives and investigates reports of alleged honor violations, holds hearings on the charges and submits to the Dean a fair verdict of judgment for final approval. For more information, contact Ed Roberson.
International Students Association ISA facilitates the adaptation of international students to the Wake Forest University academic and social environment, eases the social integration of international students through organizing of social events, providing internship and job-search assistance, and building strong international student alumni network and leverages the cultural diversity of internationals. The Joint Degree Society Seeks to further understanding and cooperation between the School of Law and the graduate program of the Schools of Business on academic, administrative, social, and professional levels. The Society addresses the special concerns of students enrolled in the JD/MBA program by serving as a liaison between the two individual programs. The society also seeks to develop and encourage a unique interface between law and management on a practical and academic level through interaction with the business and law communities, as well as other academic institutions. By presenting a collegial forum and a social venue for degree candidates who have elected to pursue degrees in both Law and Management, the Society aspires to expand and enhance the ties between the various professional disciplines.
Leadership Speaker Series Committee A committee coordinates and hosts the Leadership Speaker Series, which brings noted leaders from business and government to the Worrell Center each year. In addition to attending the lectures, students have an opportunity to meet with these professionals during informal dinners and receptions during the speakers' visits. Marketing Club The Marketing Club's main goal is to fully develop the marketing capabilities of its members. This includes giving the members access to marketing alumni speakers and panels, creating awareness for marketing activities both within and outside the school, and participating in events that display Wake Forest graduate business students' marketing talents, which can successfully compete with any top MBA school. Marketing Summit Wake Forest hosts the nation’s oldest marketing case competition, now in its 18th year, drawing teams from major universities throughout the world. During this student-organized event, teams are presented with a company’s marketing dilemma and then are given 36 hours to formulate recommendations. Recent competitions tackled marketing challenges involving Motorola, Alltel Wireless, Yahoo!, EchoStar, Coca-Cola, GlaxoSmithKline, Lowe’s Home Improvement, and Heineken USA. Net Impact Club The Net Impact club promotes social responsibility and sustainability in relation to the purpose, practice and payoff of business. The club develops awareness of current social, environmental, and cultural issues in all business disciplines through educational materials and events. Partners Association The Partners Association is a social organization for the significant others of graduate business students. Whether you are a spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, fiancé, or a friend, Partners is a group that brings people together to meet one another and get involved. Strategy and Consulting Club The Strategy & Consulting Club assists students in gaining employment within the strategy and consulting arenas by exposing club members to industry leaders, providing networking opportunities with alumni, professionals, and friends of the Schools of Business and increasing awareness of the quality of club members. Student Government Association (SGA) The Student Government Association (SGA) is an elected student group formed to represent the graduate business school student body. The SGA acts as the primary connection between students, faculty and staff. The SGA is comprised of four main committees that develop and plan events throughout the year; providing opportunities for interaction between students, faculty, staff, alumni & corporate recruiters in a relaxed environment. Other Opportunities to Get Involved
Project Nicaragua Project Nicaragua is a student-initiated, student-led seminar, consulting and microfinance initiative that began in the fall of 2006. Since that initial fact-finding trip, there have been three seminars taught in Managua, Nicaragua by over thirty current and former students of the school. Each semester a group of twelve to sixteen students travel to Nicaragua to work with small businesses and to learn more about the culture of small business in Central America. Additionally, students have led seminars in Benin, West Africa as well as local outreach initiatives to local Hispanic businesses in New Mexico and North Carolina.
